Welcoming Statement Proclamation

The Board of Selectmen signed the final Welcoming Statement at their meeting on October 24, 2017.

Town of Hingham, Massachusetts

The Town of Hingham, as represented by its Board of Selectmen, does hereby proclaim:

The Town of Hingham respects the human rights and dignity of everyone we encounter regardless of their race, age, religion, country of origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical and mental abilities – we are a welcoming community.

The Town of Hingham is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents through the provision of municipal services.  To that end, we encourage all residents to seek assistance from all resources available to the community including services provided by our police and fire departments, our recreation commission and our schools.  

The Town of Hingham is committed to fostering a sense of community consistent with our Town bylaws and the laws and regulations applicable to municipalities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
