Hingham Head-House Stabilization Project - Revised
In accordance with MGL c.149 and c.30 & 39M, the Town of Hingham Recreation Department acting on behalf of the Board of Selectmen seeks to solicit sealed bids for the Hingham Head-House Stabilization Project. The contractor must be Department of Capital Asset Management Prequalified (DCAM) as a General Contractor to Bid. A 5% bid security (bond or certified check) is required with each bid. The estimated contract value is $210,000. The Town of Hingham reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids for any reason deemed in the best interest of the Town.
SCOPE OF WORK: This lump sum contract is comprised of selective demolition of wood, lally columns and masonry of a building structure-temporary shoring, bracing and support-cast in place concrete-masonry restoration, joint repairing and re-pointing filling of voids-installation and erection of structural steel supports-wood repair and window removal, restoration and installation-wood framing-wood preservation, connectors and fasteners- carpentry and associated blocking, caulking, fasteners and all other appurtenances related to the stabilization in accordance with the project specifications and plans. WHERE TO OBTAIN A BID PACKAGE: The bid package will be available on May 15, 2013 at the Town of Hingham DPW Office at 25 Bare Cove Park Drive, Hingham, MA between 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday. There is a non-refundable fee of $25 for a hard copy or you can request a free electronic copy by emailing: DPWRFPRequest@hingham-ma.gov. All bids must be received no later than May 30, 2013 at 1:00 pm
PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE/BRIEFING/SITE VISITS: The Town will be holding a mandatory pre-bid meeting/site visit on May 21, 2013 at 10:00 am at the project site located near 210 Main Street, Hingham MA 02043. The project is located directly behind the town hall. The visit will start with an introduction and an opportunity for the bidders to familiarize themselves with the structure and opportunity to direct questions to the Town Engineer. Questions may require written responses. The tour will be guided by Town Officials. All participants will be responsible for their own transportation to the site. Private tours will not be made available.
DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS: Any questions concerning the IFB must be directed via email to our Town Engineer, Roger Fernandes, at DPWRFPRequest@hingham-ma.com. All questions must be received 72 hours prior to bid opening.
